Sunbrella Clarity features technology that works in two ways to help maintain a vibrant appearance. Sunbrella Clarity uses a photoactive ingredient fueled by UV light even on cloudy days or in moderate shade which creates a natural cleaning mechanism. It decomposes organic material such as volatile organic compounds (VOC), grime, oils, mold and mildew. The second part of the Sunbrella Clarity cleaning process is a hydrophilic or moisture spreading component that allows the surface of the fabric to wet out, washing away particles of inorganic matter on the surface. The fabric temporarily darkens, but returns to its original color after drying. Sunbrella Clarity features a coating that prevents water from penetrating through the awning.
